International Children’s Day with Books
On the occasion of International Children’s Day, dr hab. Mateusz Świetlicki gave an interview in which he gave book recommendations for children, adolescents, and young adults, discussed the specifics of judging books in the IBBY Polish Section Book of the Year Contest, and discussed the activities of the Center for Children’s Literature and Culture at the Institute of English Studies and our Center. He also talked about his latest book, Next-Generation Memory and Ukrainian Canadian Children’s Historical Fiction: The Seeds of Memory (Routledge), and a co-edited volume with Dr. Elżbieta Jamróz-Stolarska and dr hab. Agata Zarzycka, Navigating Children’s Literature Through Controversy: Global and Transnational Perspectives (Brill), the aftermath of the Centre’s activities.
During the interview, he emphasized the diversity and richness of the Polish publishing market.
